Since incorporation almost 50 years ago as a light haulage company, we’ve taken great pride in the services that we have been able to provide. In those years, we’ve progressed and transformed as a business into the tachograph specialists we are today.
About Bridgemills Service Centre
In the 50 years since we started our operations as a light haulage company, we’ve undergone a complete evolution in the services we offer and provide to businesses of all sizes across the UK.
As demand increased for tachograph calibration services, Bridgemills expanded into the world of tachographs and in early 1990 became a DVSA approved tachograph centre.
Since then Bridgemills have developed their offering and now specialise in the provision of tachograph workshop calibration, maintenance & breakdown services throughout the UK, along with still being an approved DVSA tachograph centre.
Backed up by our own internal team of engineers, Bridgemills are the UK experts in maintenance & repair of rolling roads.
Our Company History
- The company was first opened in 1976 under the name B.T. Church Transport, specialising in light haulage across the UK.
- 1978 diversified into maintenance of fleet vehicles which quickly expanded and became the sole focus of the company.
- 1979 began working with the police for the recovery of accident damaged vehicles.
- 1984 incorporated under the name Bridgemills Service Centre Ltd.
- 1986 moved into larger premises reflecting the increased demand for services.
- 1990 once again moved into larger premises to accommodate the demand for a tachograph calibration workshop. Speed limiter fitting service was also offered in the same year.
- 1991 moved all services into one site.
- 1992 sold old premises along with the vehicle recovery operation, to focus activities on tachograph services.
- 1996 expanded services to incorporate the calibration of tachograph workshops throughout the UK & Northern Ireland. A full repair, maintenance and re-furbishing service for all existing tachograph equipment and supply of tachograph parts is also offered.
- 2003 additional service analysing tachograph data. Currently offer this service for both analogue & digital data.
- 2010 agreed contract to provide Stoneridge Electronics with calibration & repair service for all customers in UK & Ireland.
- 2019 following a restructure at Stoneridge agreed terms to provide calibration, maintenance & repair service throughout UK & Ireland for Phoenix Equipment Ltd.
- 2021 acquired by Phoenix Equipment Ltd.
